Wäspen

Fin septembre, Tom et moi avons randonné du coté du Klausenpass et de la Schächental avec un petit sommet à la clé.

End of September, Tom and I hiked in the Klausenpass and Schächental region, climbing an easy peak.

Départ d'Unterschächen, direction le fond de la vallée, remontée vers Wäspen et descente pour terminer la boucle.

Start in Unterschächen, walked to the end of the valley, up to Wäspen and direct down to loop back to the starting point.

Le Schächental, cette vallée qui monte au Klausenpass depuis Altdorf (patrie de Guillaume Tell), est bien jolie. J'étais passé par là plusieurs fois en vélo, c'est l'une des montées que j'ai préféré...

Schächental is the valley that goes from Altdorf (Willem Tell's city) to the Klausenpass. It's a lovely one, one of my favorites. I was there several times with my bike.

Du coté d'Oberalp, un troupeau de moutons élisent Tom pour président.

Near Oberalp, a herd of sheep elected Tom as president.

Et le suivent aveuglément :-)

Ober boden, alpage nettement plus petit que l'Urner boden de l'autre coté du Klausenpass. J'en profite pour raconter l'histoire de cet alpage, disputé au moyen-âge entre les cantons d'Uri et de Glarus. Une histoire amusante avec des coureurs et un coq affamé.

Ober boden, quite smaller than Urner boden on the other side of Klausenpass. I told the story of that pasture, a dispute back in the middle-age between Uri and Glarus cantons. A fun story with racers and a starving rooster.

Pause déjeuner. En face Wäspen.

Bref, fin de la montée, on arrive au Wäspen, 2345 mètres.

Anyways, we made it to Wäspen, 2345 meters.

Pano, au nord. La Schächental en bas. Vers la gauche de la crête, le Chaiserstock et le Rossstock.

Pano au sud. Le boss local c'est le Gross Windgällen. On va descendre dans cette vallée maintenant.

On arrive sur l'alpage Oberlammerbach. En face on trouve Sittlisalp, fait avec Alice y a quelques années durant une longue randonnée entre Unterschächen et la Maderanertal. En bas, la Brunital.

Above the Oberlammerbach pasture now. Ahead, that's Sittlisalp, visited with Alice a few years ago during a long hike between Unterschächen and Maderanertal. Down there, the Brunital.

Et nous y voila. J'aime bien cette vallée. Encaissée, une belle rivière, pas trop de monde. C'est un coin sympa.

Here we are. I like that valley. Steep-sided, wild river, few people. Nice corner.

Randonnée peu éprouvante. Une bonne partie est signalisée bleu, signe d'une randonnée alpine. Je n'ai pas compris pourquoi, quasi aucune difficulté ou exposition. J'ai vu des randonnées rouges bien plus dures... Jolie ballade cependant.

Easy one. A big part of it is signposted as blue (alpine hike), which puzzled me since there were barely any difficulty or exposed parts. I know tougher red hikes... Nice stroll though.
