Fürstein

Randonnée à ski dans l'Entlebuch sous un soleil radieux. Le Fürstein est un petit sommet sympathique avec des pentes douces (< 30°). Combiné avec un risque d'avalanche de 1 (nord, >2000m), je me suis senti en sécurité même si j'étais seul...

Ski tour in Entlebuch under a radiant sun. Fürstein is a nice little summit with gentle slopes (<30°). Low avalanche risk too (north, >2000m) so I dared to do it alone and felt safe.

Pas sûr que j'ai choisi la meilleure approche (Flühli)... Le début est en forêt, pas très facile à ski. En montée, on se débrouille mais à la descente difficile de garder les skis.

Not sure I chose the best approach (Flühli)... Start in forest, not very convenient for ski. Going up you manage but down was too much and I had to walk.

Départ en forêt donc. Une grosse demie-heure de marche avant d'avoir suffisamment de neige pour chausser les skis.

Forest so. A big half hour before there was enough snow to put the skis on.

Je suis le sentier d'été, beaucoup de conversions et des numéros d'équilibriste. Des passages faciles aussi.

Following the summer trail, lots of kick turns and balancing acts. Some easy parts too.

Dans la forêt j'ai du sortir le GPS :-). Je finis par en sortir tant bien que mal. Je me retourne, la belle Schrattenflue ! Sörenberg n'est pas loin.

Had to use the GPS to find my way out of that forest :-). I'm out now, looking back over a beautiful Schrattenflue. Sörenberg isn't far away.

Le Fürstein (2040 m) apparaît. La montée se fait en contournant par la droite.

Fürstein (2040 m) popped up. The way up goes around the right side first.

Belle lumière, neige légère et pentes douces. C'est bien agréable.

Nice light, powder snow and gentle slopes. Feels nice.

Retour en forêt.

Back in the forest.

Petite pause vers 1700 mètres. C'est joli ici.

Quick break at 1700 meters. It's cute.

Je bifurque plein ouest, on voit enfin la montée finale. Je vais prendre vers ce col puis rester près de la crête qui monte au Fürstein (droite).

Now heading west, staring at the final uphill. I'll go up to that saddle over there, then stay on the ridge going to Fürstein (summit to the right).

L'arrivée.

Vue à 360° là-haut, plein de choses à voir ! Oberland, suisse centrale et orientale.

360° view up there, lot's of cool stuff to see! Oberland, central and eastern Switzerland.

C'est parti pour la descente. La neige est pas mal, plus lourde que le matin mais bien agréable.

Downhill ! Snow is quite good, getting heavier but pleasant to ski.

Je repasse sur mes traces, profitant d'une magnifique ambiance hivernale.

De retour dans la forêt. Je déchausse, reste 200 mètres de marche...

Super journée. Sommet assez populaire, vu pas mal de gens. Il convient bien aux journées risquées à priori, les pentes sont dans l'ensemble très faibles.

Really cool day. Fairly popular, saw many people. Probably a good idea to do on a risky day, slopes are mostly gentle.
