Saas-Fee - Graechen

Introduction

Cette randonnée fait partie d'un trek de 3 jours dans le haut Valais, de Saas-Fee à Zermatt en passant par Grächen. Les trois villages sont des petits bijous de traditions valaisannes et interdits aux voitures. La nature est sauvage (faune et flore impressionantes) et les 4000 mètres se comptent par dizaines.

This hike is part of a 3 days trek in upper Valais from Saas-Fee to Zermatt via Grächen. These 3 villages are pure traditional jewelry from this canton, cars are not allowed. The nature is wild, with amazing flowers and animals, with dozens of 4000 meters peaks around.

Route

Une fois sur la bonne piste à Saas-Fee, c'est tout droit... Je comptais passer par le Seetalhorn mais hélas trop de nuages en altitude :-(. Voir aussi sur Wanderland.

Once you've found the right path in Saas-Fee, it's straight on. Actually I wanted to climb the Seetalhorn but it was too cloudy up there :-(. See also on Wanderland.

Suis monté vite fait par le téléphérique au Felskinn (2990 m), juste sous l'Allalinhorn. Résultat: 3°C, des nuages et de la pluie. Suis redescendu vite fait !

I got on the cable car and went quickly up to Felskinn (2990 m), just below the Allalinhorn. It was freezing, cloudy and raining so I didn't stay long !

De retour à Saas-Fee avec un ciel assez prometteur.

Back to Saas-Fee with a promising sky.

La montée débute. Très vite les Alpenrosen pullulent et ajoutent une touche de grâce au sentier d'altitude.

The climb starts. Soon countless Alpenrosen add some grace to the high path.

Coup d'oeil derrière, la Saastal avec ses différents villages: Saas-Grund, Saas-Fee et Saas-Almagell.

Après 1 bonne heure vers le nord, la vallée s'ouvre. Le versant sud des alpes bernoises apparait enfin. On est en face du Bietschhorn qui sépare la vallée du Rhône et la Lötschental.

After one hour going north, the valley gets larger and you can see the southern side of the Bernese Alps. We are facing the Bietschhorn which lies between the Rhone valley and the Löschtental.

On longe un nombre incroyable de vallons. Alpenrosen et ruisseaux dans tout les sens.

The path goes along countless tiny glens. Alpenrosen and streams everywhere.

Si si je vous jure, le sentier est devant et contourne la montagne !

Arrivé finalement à Hannigalp, à un saut de téléphérique de Grächen. Comme vous pouvez le constater, la vue est théoriquement très belle ! Pas pu voir le Weisshorn snif...

Finally made it to Hannigalp, looking forward to going down to Grächen with the cable-car. As you can see it, the view is theoretically beautiful. Couldn't see the Weisshorn :-(.

Conclusion

Magnifique sentier d'altitude à faire absolument en juillet pour avoir les Alpenrosen en fleur. Un vrai parc floral. Le sentier est assez technique par moment, on traverse des pierriers et on longe quelques à-pics. La vue est saisissante. Je conseille...

Gorgeous high path which you should do in July for the amazing blossoming Alpenrosen. The path is sometimes a bit technical as it goes through lots of stones and along some steep clifs. The view is stunning. I recommend this...
