Gantrisch

Cela faisait des années que je n'avais pas visité la région du Gurnigel, aux portes de l'Oberland bernois. Très jolie région de pré-alpes avec quelques belvédères intéressants sur l'Oberland, la Suisse centrale, le plateau. On voit même quelques stars du Valais. Ce samedi matin l'envie m'a pris d'y retourner pour une petite randonnée facile sur la montagne du coin : Gantrisch (2176 m).

I haven't visited the Gurnigel area (on the doorstep of the Bernese Oberland) for many years. Lovely pre-alps area with some interesting points of view over the Oberland, central Switzerland and the plateau. You can even see a few peaks from Valais. This Saturday, I wanted to go back there for a short climb on the local star: Gantrisch (2176 m).

Après le Gurnigelpass, passé le restaurant, on trouve un gros parking, près de la Berghaus. Le mieux c'est finalement de se garer au parking sous la Gantrischhütte. Plein de variantes existent ici, beaucoup de belles crêtes. J'ai fait juste un petit bout. La montée finale au Gantrisch est raide et équipée de cordes.

After the Gurnigelpass, passed the restaurant, there's a big parking place near the Berghaus. Best is probably to park near the Gantrischhütte. Lot's of options there, many nice ridges. I only did a small bit. Careful, the final climb to Gantrisch is steep and equiped with ropes.




Depuis le Gurnigelpass, la vue sur la chaîne du Gantrisch. De gauche à droite: Nünenflue, Gantrisch, Bürglen et Ochsen. Aujourd'hui je vais monter au col du Morgete, entre Gantrisch et Bürglen, puis monter au Gantrisch. Je contournerais le Gantrisch pour descendre au Leiterepass (entre Gantrisch et Nünenflue) pour revenir à mon point de départ.

Nous sommes mi-octobre et les couleurs sont belles. C'est l'été indien, il fait chaud. Isotherme 0°C à 3800 m !

La route qui mène au Gurnigelpass, depuis Zollhaus. Je l'avais en vélo celui là. C'est très sympa, bien roulant et calme.

Depuis le col, la vue au sud. Sous mes pieds, la Simmental. Au delà, Diemtigtal et les régions de Kandersteg et d'Aldelboden. Pas mal !

Vue vers l'est. L'Oberland dans toute sa splendeur (Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn, Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau notamment). Au centre, la belle pointe du Stockhorn (2190 m) termine la chaîne du Gantrisch.

Looking east, the almighty Oberland (including Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn, Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau). The Gantrisch chain ends with the classic Stockhorn (2190 m).

Vers l'ouest, la chaîne se continue aussi. En la suivant, on tombe sur le Kaiseregg, au dessus du Lac Noir.

The chain continues westward too. Beyond, we'd see the Kaiseregg, above the Schwartzsee.

Jolie crête. Allons-y.

Nice ridge. Let's take it.

Arrivé en haut. Vue sur le plateau au nord. En bas c'est le col routier du Gurnigel. Au fond, le Jura. A l’œil nu on devinait même les Vosges (facile 200 km à vol d'oiseau) et la Forêt-noire.

I made it. Now I'm looking north, over the plateau. Down there you see the Gurnigel road pass. On the background is the Jura. With the naked eyes, I saw the Vosges (easily 200 km as crow flies) and the Black Forest.

Je redescend vers le Leiterepass, juste à l'est du Gantrisch. La crête continue avec le Nünenflue. Faudra revenir...

D'ailleurs cette face possède une via ferrata sympa. Elle prends 2 petites heures. Voyez vous les grimpeurs ?

Vers le nord-est, Thoune et l'Emmental.

Vite fait bien fait. J'ai pris rendes-vous avec deux ou trois montagnes et cette via ferrata. Jolie région !

Quick and easy. I made some appointements with a few peaks and that via ferrata. Nice area!
