Rimpfischsattel

Week-end de ski de randonnée avec le Club Alpin de Mulhouse. La veille, on s'est fait un Allalinhorn et dormi à la Britanniahütte. Aujourd'hui, on va faire le sommet d'hiver du Rimpfischhorn (4199 m) qui se situe à 4001 m. Pas un 4000 officiel mais pour l'hiver on s'en contente bien :-)

Ski tour weekend with the Mulhouse French Alpine Club. The day before we climbed Allalinhorn and slept in Britanniahütte. Today, we'll climb the winter summit of Rimpfischhorn (4199 m), 4001 meters. Not an official 4000 but it's winter and it will do just fine :-)

Sortie peu après 6h de la cabane. Pas besoin de frontale mais tout juste. Oh j'aime ces ambiances... Le monde appartient à l'alpiniste qui se lève tôt.

Out of the hut, 6am passed. No need headlamp but that was close. Boy I love this... The early mountaineer catches the worm.

Montée facile sur l'Allalingletscher. J'étais par là l'été dernier pour faire le Strahlhorn. Vraiment plus facile en hiver, crevasses bouchées, pas de pierrier. Montée efficace sans souci. Super décor.

Easy walk on Allalingletscher. I was there last summer to climb the Strahlhorn, it's so much easier in winter. Less crevasses, no scree. Efficient effortless climb. And what an incredible place.

La belle vue sur le Strahlhorn. Pas mal de monde y montait ce jour là. Encore une fois, c'est tellement plus simple en hiver. Descente éclair contre bavante. Hélas, j'aime beaucoup ces bavantes estivales, pour leur couleurs et ambiance.

The nice view on Strahlhorn. Lot's of people going up there that day. Again, it's really easier in winter. Quick way down instead of a long walk. Unfortunately, I also love these long summer walks, their colors and atmosphere.

Allalinpass.

Allalinpass toujours, cette fois avec vue sur l'Allalinhorn, fait la veille. Moins débonnaire de ce coté !

Montée simple. J'avais oublié mes couteaux, ça s'est bien passé sans.

Simple climb. I forgot my ski crampons and it went OK.

Le Rimpfischsattel (le col au centre) n'est plus loin. Le sommet d'hiver (4001 m) à droite et le sommet du Rimpfischhorn à gauche (on devine la croix).

Je monte au sommet d'hiver, histoire de faire la photo sur le sommet d'été. On n'est pas dans le temps pour l’enchaîner (~2h a/r environ) donc on laisse tomber.  Pas grave, je lui réglerai son compte en été un de ces quatre...

Quick up to the winter summit so I can do the pic on the summer summit. There's no time for us to climb it (~2h up and down) so we forgot about it. It's OK, I'll come back for it in summer and settle this!

Descente vers l'Allalinpass. Neige sympa.

Encore un peu de descente, devant l'Alphubel (4206 m). Pour revenir à l'Allalinpass il faudra repeauter 10 minutes.

Revenu sur l'Allalinglestscher. Descente tranquille. Quand je pense aux efforts ici en été...

Such a cool week end with the CAF friends.

Refuge. Pause, puis courte traversée pour Felskinn, suivie de 1200 mètres de descente sur les super pistes de Saas-Fee. Classe ici, j'aime beaucoup cette station. Zermatt, la foule jet set en moins et des remontées mécaniques efficaces & moins chères.

Hut. Break and short traverse back to Felskinn, followed by 1200 meters of great ski Saas-fee pistes. Such a nice resort, really like it. Zermatt, less jet-set, efficient and cheaper gondolas.

Journée limite quand même fatigante :-). Trois remontées dans la descente, ça fait mal aux jambes et au moral. Surtout qu'après faut traverser la Suisse... On va pas se plaindre cela dit, l'un des plus beaux coins de Suisse et bonne météo !

Quite an exhausting day still :-). Three little climbs up during the downhill, that kills your legs and mood. And then long journey back home. OK, I'm not going to complain, one of the nicest spots in the Switzerland and good weather!
