Lago Robiéi - Ossasco

Troisième et dernier jour de ma randonnée avec Miki dans le Tessin. Hier je l'ai laissé camper au lago Nero pendant que moi je me prélassais à l’hôtel du lago Robiéi. De bon matin, je part donc le rejoindre pour redescendre sur Ossasco.

Third and last day of our trip with Miki in Ticino. Yesterday I left him camping at lago Nero while I stayed at the hotel by lago Robiéi. So today, early start to meet him and go back to Ossasco.  

Route

Le premier jour nous avions contournés la Cristallina par l'ouest, aujourd'hui on passe à l'est. Randonnée très très pierreuse. La partie sous le lago Nero est technique, à la limite de l'itinéraire alpin bleu. J'ai suivi lago Nero puis après avoir passé le col du même nom, on s'est dirigé vers lago del Narèt, monté au col du même nom puis redescendu dans le val Bedretto.

The first day we went around west of Cristallina, today we'll go east of it. Very very stony hike. The part below lago Nego is quite technical and could easily be labelled as blue alpine trail. I followed lago Nero then passo del lago Nero, lago del Narèt, passo del Narèt and back down to val Bedretto.

Une demie heure après avoir quitté le Robiéi, je suis déjà au boulot, ca monte dur et ce n'est que le début.

Half an hour after leaving Robiéi, I'm working already. It's steep and getting steeper.

Ca siffle de partout ! Pas moyen d'être tranquille ici !

Dommage qu'il ne faisait pas beau, la vue était prometteuse. Au centre, le Robiéi, à gauche le Zött. Plus vers la droite on verrais le lago Bianco mais je vous l'épargne pour cette fois.

Shame the weather was bad, the view would have been great otherwise. In the center is Robiéi, on the left side we see lake Zött. More to the right, we'd see lago Bianco but I'll spare you for once.

J'ai trouvé cette montée au lago Nero vraiment superbe. Raide, technique et avec une vue potentiellement géniale. J'étais seul au milieu de cette rocaille peu hospitalière. Je vous laisse trouver les marqueurs rouge/blanc. Certains sont comiques...

I found this climb to lago Nero truly great. Very steep, technical and with great potential views. I was alone in the middle of this inhospitable stones. Just try to spot the marquers, some I found quite fun...

Soudain, je tombe sur le ce lago Nero. Miki, t'es où ?

All of the sudden, I hit lago Nero. Miki, where are you ?




Je retrouve un Miki de bonne humeur (il a enfin péché son gros poisson). On va là haut maintenant, vers le petit col du lago Nero (2593 m). Pas bien méchant et nos sacs sont plus légers.

Miki is in good mood, he caught a big fish ! Now we're heading over there, towards the tiny passo del lago Nero (2593 m). Easy and our bags are lighter now.

On laisse le lago Nero derrière nous. Là encore, un très joli lac que j'aimerais voir par beau temps avec la vue sur le Basodino derrière.

Passés le col, on s'engage dans un pierrier qui n'en finira pas. Casse-genoux et à éviter par temps humide...

Beyond the pass, we end up into a never ending scree. Will kill your knees, avoid it on a wet day.

Le chemin parcouru depuis le col, à gauche sur la photo. Et c'est qu'une partie. Quota de rocaille pour l'année...

Joli petit lac répondant au nom de Laiozz. Bon j'ai pas eu du bol avec la lumière, un petit google vous montrera que c'est franchement joli là dessous. On se reverra !

Very cute lake named Laiozz. I wasn't really lucky with the light and everything but a quick google would show you that's it pretty nice down there. I'll see you again !

On arrive au lago del Narèt, le gros lac du coin, accessible en voiture. Juste le temps de jeter un coup d’œil, on monte aussitôt au passo del Narèt. Rien de bien sérieux.

Made it to lago del Narèt, the big lake of the area, which you can reach by car. Just a quick peep and we climb up to passo del Narèt. Nothing really serious.

On débouche sur le val Torta, où l'on est passés deux jours auparavant. Au fond à gauche, c'est le passo di Cristallina. A droite, le chemin pour Ossasco. Plus que 1000 mètres de descente et c'est fini.

Conclusion

Superbe randonnée sauvage et technique. Des marmottes par dizaine, des fleurs, des bouquetins. Dommage pour le temps, mais je compte bien revenir là bas. Sur l'ensemble des trois jours, charmante région avec ses particularités. Technique, rocailleux, sauvage. Et des lacs partout. Autant je ne suis pas fan de la Leventina, pourtant toute proche, autant ici je crois bien que je vais revenir. 

Great hike, wild and technical. Dozens groundhogs, flowers and even a moutain goat. Too bad for the weather but I'll be back. Overall for this trip, lovely area. Technical, stony, wild. And lots of lakes. I'm not a big fan of the Leventina valley, which is pretty close, but there I really liked. Ticino, it only starts !

Lago Bianco - Lago di Robiéi

Deuxième jour de notre trip dans le Tessin, Miki et moi. Après une nuit au lago Bianco un peu trop fraîche à mon gout, on lève le camp. Miki va aller camper encore plus haut au lago Nero et moi je descend au lago di Robiéi pour le confort d'un hôtel.

Second day of Miki and I's trip in Ticino. After a pretty cold night, we're leaving lago Bianco. Miki will go camping even higher at lago Nero and I go down to lago di Robiéi to enjoy a warm bed/shower in a hotel !

Route

Petite journée, 2-3 heures à tout casser. Suivre lago di Robiéi dont je ferais le tour vite fait...

Le lago di Robiéi n'est plus très loin. En face, le Basodino et le barrage du lac de Zött.

Lago di Robiéi isn't far away now. Ahead is Basodino and the dam of lake Zött.

J'arrive à Robiéi. L’hôtel est franchement bienvenu. Je rêve d'une douche et de jeter mon sac à dos ! On voit aussi la station d'arrivée du téléphérique venant de San Carlo, au fond du val Bavona (extension du Val Maggia, qui démarre près de Locarno). Super camp de base pour futures randonnées.

Arrived at Robiéi. Thanks god there's a hotel, I dream of throwing away my backpack and take a shower. There's also the upper station of the gondola coming from San Carlo, at the end of val Bavona (extention of val Maggia, starting near Locarno). Great base camp for future hikes.

Tour du lac histoire de dire que j'aurais fait quelque chose.

Conclusion

Journée courte dédiée à manger, se laver et bouquiner. Ca fait aussi du bien des fois ! Demain, je monte au lago Nero pour retrouver Miki et repartir dans le val Bedretto via lago del Narèt.

Short day, where I focused on eating, showering and reading. It can be sweet too ! Tomorrow, I'll meet Miki at lago Nero and we'll go back to val Bedretto, via lago del Narèt.

Ossasco - Lago Bianco

Mon pote Miki voulait pêcher et moi je voulais randonner. Nous voila donc partis dans le Tessin (le canton italophone au sud de la Suisse) pour 3 jours de rando, pêche et camping. On a fait en gros une boucle autour de la Cristallina depuis Ossasco dans le val Bedretto (entre Gotthard et Nufenen). Commençons par le premier jour.

 My friend Miki wanted to fish and I wanted to hike. So we spent 3 days in Ticino (the italian speaking part of Switzerland) hiking, camping and fishing. We basically did a loop around Cristallina from Ossasco in Val Bedretto (between Gotthard and Nufenen). Let's start with day 1.

Route 

Départ donc d'Ossasco et direction le passo di Cristallina et lago Bianco, où l'on campera le premier soir.

So, start in Ossasco and head to passo di Cristallina and then lago Bianco where we camped.

Le val Bedretto de bon matin. Les premiers mètres permettent de s'échauffer. Après ça monte dur, nos sacs de 20 kilos s’apprêtent à nous tuer. On a ptet pris trop de trucs :-).

Early morning in val Bedretto. Easy start first, nice for warming up but then it gets quite steep. Our backpacks are close to 20 kilos and they will kill us. Maybe we packed too much :-).

Toujours le val Bedretto derrière. Au fond à droite, le mythique col du Saint-Gotthard n'est pas loin. Mythique non pas par sa difficulté mais par son importance historique et géographique. Aujourd'hui le tunnel autoroutier de 17 km permet d'éviter le col mais pas les bouchons. Un autre tunnel, ferroviaire et de base, est en cours de finition, c'est actuellement le plus long du monde (57 km !).

Still val Bedretto below. On the background, to the right, the mythical Saint-Gotthard pass is close. Mythical not because of the difficulty but because of its historical and geographical importance. Today, the 17 km tunnel allows cars to avoid the pass but not the traffic jams. Another tunnel, for trains this one, is being finalized as we speak and is currenlty the longest in the world (57 km !).

Très jolie cette montée au passo di Cristallina. De jolis petits ruisseaux courent dans tout les sens. Miki les surveille attentivement au cas où :-)

I found the way up to pass di Cristallina quite cute. Lot's of streams around. Miki watched them closely just in case :-).

Le col apparaît. Il n'est pas méchant mais les gros sacs nous aplatissent. Sur la gauche, les contreforts de la Cristallina (2912 m).

Here's the pass. It's quite easy but our bags are flattening us down. On the left side, the foothills of Cristallina (2912 m).

A l'est, on voit le passo del Narèt que l'on empruntera le troisième jour pour revenir à Ossasco.

Looking east we see passo del Narèt, which we'll do the third day on our way back to Ossasco.

On arrive au col où se trouve la cabane Cristallina.

Made it to the pass, where there's also the Cristallina hut.

On bascule de l'autre coté pour voir un des innombrables lacs du coin. En face, le mastodonte glacé c'est le Basodino (3272 m) qui fait accessoirement frontière avec l'Italie.

We switch to the other side to see one the countless lakes of the area. The colossus on the background is Basodino (3272 m), on the border with Italy.

On arrive à un petit col offrant un panorama spectaculaire. Sur la droite, le lac artificiel dei Cavagnöö. Au centre le Basodino avec le lago del Zött à son pied. On devine un bout du lago di Robiéi un peu bas sur la gauche. Je dormirai là le deuxième soir.

We arrived to a tiny pass offering a stunning panorama. To the right, the artificial lago dei Cavagnöö. In the center, Basodino and lago del Zött at its foot. Also, a piece of lago di Robiéi a bit lower and to the left. I'll sleep there the second night.

Du même point de vue, en se penchant un peu, on voit le lago Bianco (2077 m), terminus de la première journée.

La descente commence, très technique. Je maudit mon sac. Heureusement il fait beau et c'est joli !

Downhill starts, pretty technical. I'm cursing my backpack. At least the sun shines and it's beautiful !

On approche. Je prend note du fait que l'on peut monter à vélo de route jusqu'au lac Cavagnöö. Depuis Locarno ça doit faire une belle ballade, dont une bonne partie interdite aux voitures.

Getting close. I take note of that road going up to lago dei Cavagnöö. Nice cycling trip from Locarno I guess ! And no cars there...

Arrivés au lac. Y a plus qu'à planter les tentes et sortir les cannes. Bon, c'est quand même pas l'idéal pour camper. C'est marécageux et venteux... Je me suis bien caillé !

Made it to the lake. Let's camp and fish now. Ok, it's not the ideal place for camping I've gotta say. It's swampy and windy. I froze !

Conclusion

Rando originale avec plein de belles choses à voir. On a fini cassés par contre. Quelques étoiles filantes (c'était La nuit) et on s'écroule. Demain, ben on verra...

Original hike with lot's of nice things to see. We ended up knackered though. A few shooting stars (that was The night) and we collapsed. Tomorrow is another day...
