Allmenalp

Avec Alice nous sommes allés faire la via ferrata d'Allmenalp près de Kandersteg, dans l'Oberland Bernois. Une via ferrata assez incroyable, cotée K4 (sur une échelle de 1 à 5) et sacrément verticale... Frissons garantis. On a enchainé avec une petite rando.

Alice and I went doing the Allmenalp via ferrata (iron way), near Kandersteg, Bernese Oberland. It's an incredible via ferrata, rated K4 (on a scale from 1 to 5) and pretty vertical. Thrills are guaranteed. We continued with a small hike.

A quelques minutes de Kandersteg, vue sur les 350 mètres du mur. La via passe autour des cascades.

On arrive rapidement au pied. On n'est pas seuls, ça aide à voir un peu par où ça passe. C'est ... vertical !

Quickly made it to the start. We are not alone, helps to realize where does it go. It's ... vertical!

Première pour Alice. Une K4 c'est costaud mais madame fait de l'escalade.

First time for Alice. A K4 is tough but my lady does climbing.

Le début s'avère quand même difficile pour elle, elle découvre. Et pour moi aussi: je stresse pour elle :-). C'est pas vraiment dur mais la chute est interdite sur ces pitons.

The start was hard though, she is discovering. I'm stressing too... for her :-). It's not very difficult but you cannot afford to fall on those spikes.

Premier pont népalais. Belle ambiance, un peu d'adrénaline. C'est facile, faut juste pas avoir le vertige.

First three-rope bridge. Nice atmosphere and a bit of adrenalin. It's easy, you just shouldn’t have fear of heights.




Passé le pont, passage rapide sur sentier pour rejoindre une échelle.

Passage facile et agréable dans un mini canyon.

C'est raide mais sympa sur une petite arête.

J'ai bien aimé la diversité des 'obstacles' proposés. Ici, deux petits ponts rigolos surplombant le vide. Oui, ca bouge un peu :-).

Le deuxième pont népalais. Plus de vide et avec changements de mousquetons celui là.

Second three-rope bridge. This time with more emptiness and carabiners change.

La fin reste bien verticale. Là encore, tomber est déconseillé, rester bien concentré.

The end remains pretty vertical. Here again you should not fall, keep focused.

Un petit quart d'heure plus tard, on en termine. Alice n'est pas mécontente, 3 heures en tout à devoir être ultra concentrée, c'est pas évident. Chapeau poussinette :-).

After 15 min, we are finishing. Alice is happy about it, staying focused for 3 hours overall isn't easy. Well done honey :-).

Arrivés à Allmenalp. Plutôt que descendre direct en téléphérique, on part faire une petite randonnée (vers la gauche). Là haut, vers l'ouest, c'est la Bunderspitz, derrière c'est Adelboden.

Arriving at Allmenalp. We left the gondola (it goes back down to the start) and started a small hike (towards left). Up there, looking west, that's the Bunderspitz, behind is Adelboden.

La vue d'Allmenalp (1700 m) vers l'est. En bas, Kandersteg. Au dessus, un ptit bout du magnifique Oeschinensee. La Blümlisalphütte et les Blümlisalp au fond. Le Doldenhorn à droite et le Dündehore à gauche. Derrière, c'est la Kiental.

Jolie ballade champêtre, peu de dénivellé. Tient, tout à gauche on voit l'Ärmighore et sa belle arête.

Pretty and green stroll, without much climb. Oh, I can see the nice ridge of the Ärmighore, to the very left.

Quelques alpages, sous le Gross Loner.

Au sud, l'Uschenental apparait, un immense alpage. J'étais passé par là il y a 2 ans pour aller faire l'Entschligegrat.

To the south appears the Uschenental, a huge pasture. I was there 2 years ago when I climbed the Entschligegrat.

Panorama coté est. La Gasteretal au centre. L'une de mes vallées préférées en Suisse. J'y étais en juin pour faire la Petersgrat et trois ans auparavant pour faire le Lötschpass. Quel coin magnifique... On devine aussi le téléphérique qui monte à Sunnbuel.

Panorama looking east. Gastereral, at the center, is one of my favorite Swiss valleys. I was there last June to climb Petersgrat and three years ago to go up to Lötschpass. What an incredible corner of the universe... You see also the cable car going up to Sunnbuel.

Un bon thé froid dans un chalet typique, c'est bon pour les batteries.

On commence à descendre, l'Uschenental devant nous.

Et nous revoila devant le mur d'Allmenalp. Bien contents d'être passés par là !

And here we are again facing the Allmenalp wall. Pretty happy to have climbed it!

Superbe via ferrata, très variée avec des paysages bien alpins. Assez délicate parfois, verticale voire surplombante. La matériel est en super état. Le plus dur c'est de rester bien concentré car une chute aurait de lourdes conséquences... Si on met ça de coté, on s'amuse comme des fous.

Amazing via ferrata, very diverse and gorgeous landscapes. Quite tricky sometimes, always vertical or even overhanging. The gear is in perfect shape. The trick is to remain focus all the way because a fall would be very nasty... Put that aside and you'll have a lotta fun.
