Punta Parrot

Suite de notre mini spaghetti tour avec le Club Alpin. Aujourd'hui, la troupe va se diviser en deux groupes. J'emmène ceux qui ont récupéré de la dure journée la veille faire 3 sommets sur le Mont Rose. Journée très cool.

Next episode of our short spaghetti tour with the Alpine Club. Today, we'll split into 2 groups. I'll take the ones who recovered from the tough day yesterday, and we'll climb 3 summits on Monte Rosa. Very cool day.

Rifugio Gnifetti > Punta Parrot (4434 m) > Lüdswighöhe (4342 m) > Corno Nero (4321 m) >  Punta Indren (teléphérique/cable car) > Val Greyssoney

PD, ~ +900m, -1200m, 7 h.

De bon matin, sortie du refuge Gnifetti.

Early in the morning, out of Gnifetti hut.

Belle ambiance. Un lever de soleil sur le Mont Blanc ça ne laisse jamais de marbre.

Nice atmosphere. You can't enough of a sunrise over Mont Blanc.

Montée au Lisjoch sur une belle trace autoroute. Autrement plus facile que la veille ^-^. Fais juste un peu froid...

On our way up to Lisjoch, nice highway track. Way easier than yesterday ^-^. Just a bit cold...

Et nous y voila. Bienvenue en Suisse ! La Dufourspitze (4634 m) tout à gauche, puis la Zumsteinspitz et la Punta Gnifetti (avec le refuge Margherita) à droite. J'ai gardé de très bons souvenirs de notre spaghetti tour avec mes 2 compères Jacques et Pierre. Un coin superbe ici.

Here we are. Welcome in Switzerland! Dufourspitze (4634 m) on the very left, then Zumsteinspitz and Punta Gnifetti (with the Margherita hut) on the right. What a gorgeous place.

Derrière Dimitri et Lucas: le Lyskamm. Le genre de montagne qui m'attire et me fait peur à la fois.

Bon, la Punta Parrot nous appelle. D'ailleurs une cordée est en train de faire la trace. Parfait.

Alright, Punta Parrot is calling. And there's 2 nice people making the track for us. Perfect.

Approche facile et sans dangers.

Easy and safe approach.

2 minutes de rochers là encore facile.

2 rocky minutes, also easy.

Puis démarre une belle arête de neige, élégante, un peu aérienne mais pas trop. Juste du plaisir.

Then starts a beautiful snowy ridge, elegant, a bit exposed but not that much. Just fun.

 

Faisons le tour. A l'est: le Grentzgletscher, emprunté l'an dernier pour revenir à Zermatt. Petit paradis qu'on aimerait immuable... Au fond, une ribambelle valaisanne: Cervin, Dent Blanche, Obergabelhorn, Zinalrothorn notamment. Pfiou j'ai encore du travail là bas !

Let's take a tour. East: Grentzgletscher, we took that one last year to come back to Zermatt. Tiny paradise, I wish it could be immutable... On the background, a valaisan flock: Matterhorn, Dent Blanche, Obergabelhorn, Zinalrothorn. Pfew still have some work to do there!

Au nord/north, Weisshorn, Dufour & Zumstein.

Sud/south: Italia

Descente sans histoire, belle ambiance.

Easy downhill, nice surroundings.

Après passage au Piodejoch, Dimitri vers son premier 4000 en tête: Ludwisghöhe. C'est l’intérêt du CAF: on apprends l'autonomie en douceur.

Lucas lui aussi en direction des son premier 4000 en tête: le Corno Nero. Je suis partageur :-).

Pente sérieuse sous le Corno Nero, 45° je dirais. Bonne trace, pas de glace, neige portante. Rimaye enfouie.

Quite steep below Nero Nero, probably around 45°. Nice track, no ice, good snow. Bergschrung invisible.

Et l'arrivée !

J'avais un brin de 30m, pas suffisant pour descendre mes deux compères jusqu'en bas :s. Suis allé tout doux en descente du coup!

I only had 30 meters, not enough to let them down all the way :s. So I came down very slowly.

De là, descente éclair direction Gnifetti.

From there, fast downhill to Gnifetti.

On laisse Gnifetti de coté, on prends le couloir qui descend à Punta Indren. Un peu le chaos dans le coin, beaucoup de monde, un course de trail notamment.

We left Gnifetti aside, took that couloir that goes down to Punta Indren. Some chaos there, many people, a trail race ongoing.

Télécabine en vue. Fin du périple !

Une pizza italienne pour célébrer ! Les autres ont fait une belle Pyramide Vincent.

A proper italian pizza to celebrate! The others climbed the lovely Vincent Pyramid.

Jolie journée. Je suis content, tout le monde sourit encore :-). Et puis j'ai fait la Parrot. Bravo à mes deux compères du jour, bonne attitude en montagne. J'ai bien apprécié ce week-end, même s'il s'est révélé être plus physique que je pensais. Vivement le prochain !

Great day. I'm happy, everyone is still smiling :-). And I could do Parrot. Hat's off to my two compadres, great spirit up there. I liked that weekend, even if it ended up more physical than I thought. Looking forward to the next one!
